Workin' @ the car wash....

Today we held a car wash to benefit Kidney for Kristy to help my cousin Kristy raise funds for a kidney transplant. I happen to love fundraising and I set this event up through our local Beef O Brady's restaurant. I love seeing all my friends and family come together for a good cause. It really does make my heart swell to see good things going on in this world. <3 Today was definitely a successful day. We raised $236 from the car wash itself and my aunt (Kristy's momma) gave $100. SO, we will have $336 going into the K4K fund come Monday once I hit the bank to deposit and then donate the funds raised. YES! This will put us at just over $1000 of our $5000 goal. We are moving right along! If you'd like to help out, or know anyone who would, please please spread the word. You'd be amazed at what networking online can do. This picture has entertained me since the second I took it. They are so synchronized.

The above picture is my husband escorting this sweetest older lady (who also happens to be partially blind) across the street to get a cooler full of water bottles she brought back to us. Emily & I met her down on the corner of the street where we were standing and holding our "car wash" signs. She was sitting down waiting for a public bus. She was so kind to us. She told us she was a Christian and asked if she could pray with us, and we of course said YES! So, she prayed, and then told us of how she was sitting their waiting for the bus to come so she could give the driver, A, a Bible. She asked that we pray for him, as he has a lot of questions about God. She also said she'd be back, as she was going to go home and get water to stock our cooler. And she did. She brought back tons of water from H2Hope. It's bottles of water with Jeremiah 29:11 on it. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a future." She left her card with my husband and asked that we update her with the Kidney for Kristy progress, and we will.
