Trick of Treat?
NO treat for me :)
The Pioneer Woman has inspired me to just say no to sugar this month. Now, when I say that, I don't mean I am going to drive myself crazy and read all labels to ensure I am not getting any sugar. What I DO mean is that I am going to cut out sugary treats that I likely do not need. This includes (but is not limited to) : cookies, cakes, cupcakes, candy bars, mocha frappe's, and my favorite, Ghirardelli dark chocolate brownies (gasp). It's not going to be easy. At all. Honestly, when I first started throwing the idea around in September, I didn't think I could do it. Which is exactly why I AM doing it. I figured October was the best time to try. Get it out of the way before holiday treats that come with Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sure, I will miss some Halloween candy, as well as smores (another favorite) at October bonfires, but, in the end, it WILL be worth it! For one, I will have proved to myself that I indeed CAN do it, and two, I most likely will feel better just from cutting out some of this junk food! And the best part is? Change causes change. If I can (and I WILL) make it through this month, it will likely roll into other months of me making positive food choices when it comes to sweets. I took my first step yesterday as I bought cheesecake as a birthday surprise for a friend, and I didn't have one single bite of it. YAY!
I know it's going to be hard, but does anyone want to join me on this endeavor this month? YOU CAN DO IT!! :D

I hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed Sunday. Don't forget to be thankful, always.

I actually just started a new plan so I am only allowing myself to eat treats on Saturdays now. But I read a few tips online and to cut "cravings" I'll be making hot tea with a little bit of cinnamon in it when I feel like I need a dessert. It'll be nice to have some blogger support on this!
ReplyDeleteYou are BRAVE girl! :) I am off soda since July...I am pretty proud of that... but maybe I should take it a step further like you!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea, so even though I'm two very sugary days late, I think I'm going to join you in this endeavor. No more sugar for me this October! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Heather... I can only imagine it's gonna be like it was for me when I had restricted my carbs down to 20 a day. I was all Ggrrr, lol
